aboutus1

The Wissahickon Fire Company protects a population of 17,500 residents in an area of 10 square miles in central Montgomery County, PA. The Company was chartered on April 7, 1891 to protect the residents, businesses and visitors of Ambler, Lower Gwynedd and surrounding communities.

We are an all-volunteer organization made up of highly trained, dedicated and caring people. Our volunteers fulfill various roles in the organization; most serve as firefighters, but others are special fire police, and some serve in administrative positions. Our members come from many diverse backgrounds with one common desire – to help others.

We operate out of two stations, one in Ambler Borough and one in Lower Gwynedd Township, providing us quicker responses to our primary coverage area and neighboring municipalities. The company operates several vehicles including three engines, a rescue engine, two fire police units, a heavy rescue, an aerial and two marine units.
